Sony ZV-E10

A lightweight, creator-focused camera for situations where I want high-quality video without carrying a heavy full-frame body. It’s designed for vlogging and content creation, with features that make solo shooting simple and stress-free. Perfect for travel, quick social content, or as a reliable B-camera.

What I Love

  • Compact and lightweight, easy to carry all day or mount on small tripods.

  • Excellent autofocus with real-time Eye AF for both humans and animals.

  • Vari-angle LCD screen makes framing yourself effortless.

  • Product Showcase mode instantly shifts focus to items you hold up.

  • Uses Sony E-mount lenses, giving plenty of creative flexibility.

What Could Be Improved

  • No in-body image stabilisation, handheld shots can get shaky without a stabilised lens or gimbal.

  • 4K limited to 30fps (no 4K60).

  • Rolling shutter can be noticeable in fast pans.

Best Use Cases

  • Vlogging and talking-head content.

  • Travel and everyday carry camera.

  • Social media content creation without heavy gear.

Key Specs & Price

  • 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor

  • 4K up to 30fps, Full HD up to 120fps

  • Vari-angle 3-inch touchscreen LCD

  • Price: ~£650 (body only at time of purchase)

Final Verdict

The Sony ZV-E10 is a great choice for creators who want portability and pro-level image quality in a small package. It’s not a replacement for a full-frame workhorse, but as a dedicated content creation camera, it’s hard to beat for the price. They recently released version 2 of this camera, but the original is what I have. I recommend buying it without a lens and getting this Sigma f/2.8 lens instead.
