Manfrotto Super Clamp
A deceptively simple tool that ends up in almost every shoot I do. It’s a rock-solid, universal mounting solution for lights, cameras, arms, monitors, basically anything you can bolt to it. If there’s no light stand or tripod handy, chances are I can make it work with a Super Clamp.
What I Love
Incredible grip strength, holds securely to round or flat surfaces.
Versatile mounting, works with 1/4” and 3/8” threaded accessories.
Compact and portable, small enough to keep a few in the kit bag.
Pairs perfectly with friction arms (like the Manfrotto Friction Arm) for monitor or light positioning.
All-metal build you can trust for years.
What Could Be Improved
Slightly heavy if you’re carrying multiple for travel.
The opening range could be wider for some larger surfaces.
Not the cheapest clamp on the market, but you get what you pay for.
Best Use Cases
Mounting monitors or lights to poles, tables, or trusses.
Securing accessories when no tripod or light stand is available.
Building modular rig setups with friction arms and extension mounts.

Final Verdict
The Manfrotto Super Clamp is the Swiss Army knife of grip gear. Once you start using them, you’ll wonder how you ever worked without them, which is why I keep more than one in my kit.
